An Electrochemical Measurement for Evaluating the Cathodic Disbondment of Buried Pipeline Coatings under Cathodic Protection
Steel pipelines are susceptible to corrosion by the action of corrosive substance in the environment and one of the most common failure modes in buried pipeline coatingis cathodic disbondment. Consequently, Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) was used to assess the effect of three important parameters, the thickness of coating, the artificial defect ...

متن کاملNumerical Analysis of Metal Transfer in Gas Metal Arc Welding under Modified Pulsed Current Conditions
A method has been proposed to pulsate current in gas metal arc welding (GMAW) to achieve a specific type of desirable and repeatable metal transfer mode, i.e., one drop per pulse (ODPP) mode. This method uses a peak current lower than the transition current to prevent accidental detachment and takes advantage of the downward momentum of the droplet oscillation to enhance the detachment. A numer...
متن کاملOn the Mechanism of MOF‐5 Formation under Cathodic Bias
T considerable interest in the chemistry and applications of metal−organic frameworks (MOFs) has led to significant synthetic advances in this area, yet the details of the self-assembly process that give rise to these materials are still unclear. This is curious, but not unexpected: the crystallization of MOFs is difficult to study because their nucleation typically requires unpredictable induc...
متن کاملElectric current density imaging of tablet dissolution.
The Electric current density imaging technique (CDI) was used to monitor the dissolution of and ion migration from tablets of different acids in agar-agar gel. Conventional MRI cannot monitor these processes, since it can only show changes in the size of the tablet during the dissolving process. CDI traces the dissolved ions thanks to changes in conductivity.
